Your Athlete’s World

Athletes want to succeed. No child runs out on the field hoping they will miss a goal. Coming in third is not their dream. Failing a test or letting their team down is crushing for every athlete. Parental pressure and high expectations add to the demands your child has already put upon themselves.

Offer unconditional love. Ask them to share their athletic goals and dreams with you. Encourage them to work for their dreams and support them as they reach for their goals. Strive to keep them healthy and safe. Be sure to have fun along their journey.

  • Pack an encouraging note in your child’s lunch or backpack on game day
  • Make their favorite breakfast before a test or competition.
  • Let your child choose the music for the ride to the meet.
  • Include their favorite healthy snack for their practice breaks.
  • Ask your athlete if they had fun playing, training, or competing.
  • Commend them for trying their best when they are the last runner to cross the finish line.
  • Let your child know you are proud of them. Putting their talent, effort, and performance out for all to see is an act of courage!
